The Camden Garden Club is working with the Garden Club Federation of Maine (GCFM) to raise money to help with landscaping at Habitat for Humanity homes in Maine. This is part of a larger project by the National Garden Club (NGC). The NCG will be having a Walkathon during their National Convention in mid May in Buffalo, NY. Pledge money received by the GCFM will be used to help Habitat for Humanity homeowners in Maine with landscaping.
The Camden Garden Club is part of the Medomak District of the GCFM and the New England Region of the National Garden Club. Anyone who would like to make a pledge for this project may do so by sending a check to GCFM Treasurer Judith Tarbox at 6 Pleasant Street, Camden, ME 04843 by May 11. Checks should be made out to GCFM-Habitat Walkathon. GCFM is a 501 © 3 organization.
This year two Habitat homes are being assisted with money raised through a previous NGC Walkathon. The GCFM Outreach Coordinator Alvion Kimball is working with homeowners in the St Croix and Kennebec Districts in planning landscaping that fits their family’s needs.
