The Camden Garden Club will meet at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 24, at the First Congregational Church, 55 Elm Street in Camden. “Looking Ahead – Where Do We Go From Here” will be the theme of the open forum discussion. Already included in the club’s 2016 calendar are the Winter Horticultural Series at the Camden Public Library in January and February. Guest speakers will educate the audience on the development of the colonial revival garden at the General Henry Knox Museum in Thomaston, the craft of the arborist, botanical illustration, and garden design. The series is free and open to the public, and will be held weekly on Tuesdays at 10:00 a.m. in the Picker Room beginning January 26 and ending February 23.
As 2015 winds down Camden Garden Club members will be busy cleaning up the Village Green, making bows for the holiday wreaths, and trimming those wreaths with bows and lights before they take their place atop the Camden lampposts for the holiday season. Founded in March of 1915, Camden Garden Club has celebrated a century of service this year and looks forward to a new century to grow and blossom. Camden Garden Club is a member of the Garden Club Federation of Maine and National Garden Clubs, Inc. New members are always welcome.
